Healing Happens in Relationship
My journey into psychotherapy began as a deeply personal one. As a teenager, I struggled with illness and depression, which led me to explore the intricate connection between mind and body. This formative experience ignited my curiosity about how our emotional and physical states are intertwined and how healing must address the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.
As I delved deeper, I became increasingly aware of the broader context of our lives—how our families, relationships, and cultural narratives shape who we are. I discovered that trauma, relationship patterns, and loyalties are often passed down through generations, profoundly influencing our emotional well-being. This realisation sparked my passion for understanding the systemic and relational forces at play in our lives and how these dynamics can either hinder or support our growth and healing.
These insights led me to train as an Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapist, where I could bring together a range of therapeutic approaches, including Gestalt Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred Therapy, Object Relations, Attachment and Developmental Theory, Couples, Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic and Relational Therapy. Recognising the importance of the mind-body relationship, I also trained as a Mind-Body Therapist, integrating somatic techniques, breathwork, mindfulness, body psychotherapy, and Jungian dreamwork analysis into my practice.
Through my work, I strive to empower clients to understand themselves within the context of their relationships, families, and histories. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, I am committed to helping clients uncover the patterns and unconscious dynamics that hold them back, supporting them in finding insight, meaning, and connection.
My own experiences of illness and emotional struggle have been a source of both pain and transformation. They have taught me that healing is possible when we approach ourselves with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to engage with the layers of our experience. Today, I bring this belief into my work, offering a space where clients can explore, heal, and discover their authentic selves. I began practising as a therapist in 2009 after completing a counselling diploma, courses in Emotional Freedom Techniques, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy. In 2011, I studied Person-Centred Psychotherapy at BSc (Hons) Degree level. I added to my portfolio with bodywork, becoming a Holistic and Deep Tissue Massage Therapist in 2016, and a Reflexologist in 2017, specialising in Fertility and Maternity Reflexology.
I became a shamanic practitioner in 2019, then studied for three years to advanced level in Family and Systemic Constellations Therapy. In 2023, I began a post-graduate diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapy and am currently studying for an MA in Advanced Clinical Practice at The Minster Centre.
As an Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapist, I offer an holistic and relational approach to therapy, drawing on a range of modalities to support individuals, couples, and families in their journey of self-discovery and growth. My practice is deeply rooted in the principles of Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Existential and Person-centred Therapy, Psychodynamic and Object Relations Theory, Systemic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems and parts work, Neuroscience, Polyvagal and Trauma theory as well as the foundational insights of Attachment and Developmental theory. This integrative approach allows me to tailor therapy to the unique needs of each client, fostering an environment of empathy, understanding, and collaboration.
Rooted in a holistic philosophy, I integrate diverse therapeutic modalities tailored to meet your unique needs. My approach emphasises the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, ensuring a client-centred experience that honours your individuality and lived experience. By working together, we can explore your inner world, foster personal empowerment, and uncover pathways to well-being and wholeness.
I embrace Relational Therapy, focusing on the healing potential of authentic connection, while incorporating somatic techniques to deepen the mind-body connection. As a Mind-Body Therapist, I integrate body psychotherapy, breathwork, and mindfulness practices to help clients access and process emotions stored in the body. Additionally, my work is enriched by Jungian dreamwork analysis and exploration of the imaginal realm, providing clients with tools to uncover unconscious patterns, access creative insight, and find deeper meaning in their experiences.
In working with individuals, couples and family systems, I prioritise creating a safe, supportive space where relational dynamics can be explored and transformed. My aim is to empower clients to understand themselves, their relationships, and their histories more deeply, helping them to navigate challenges, improve communication, and foster authentic connections.
Overall, my therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that insight and meaning are essential to healing and growth. I support clients in cultivating self-awareness, resilience, and the capacity to live more fully in alignment with their authentic selves.
